Pastor Bobby Gene Allen, 78, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord and savior Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Gene was born in Ewing, Kentucky on June 2, 1944, to the late Leonard and Mildred Crawford Allen of Fleming County.

He was an ordained minister and an associate Pastor of Greater Rain Community Church.

His greatest love in this life was testifying and ministering the word of God.  He also enjoyed fishing, wood working and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, who were his pride and joy.

Gene was a retired tobacco farmer and fence builder.

He was a devoted husband to his loving wife and best friend, Ruth Allen for 46 years, who passed this life on October 1, 2012.  He was the father of four children who he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his only son, Bobby Dean Allen,  his eldest daughter, Jeannie Allen-Smith, five brothers, Bruce Thompson Allen, Robert C. Allen, John Henry Allen, Rocky Allen and Bill Normal Allen and two sisters, Louise Burton and Alma Seager.

He leaves behind two daughters, Roxanna (Chris) Browning and Susan Allen-Highfield both of Flemingsburg, seven grandchildren, Billy Gene Smith, Jamie (Jason) Marshall, Bobby Clayton  Browning, Zachary Browning, Harley Michael Allen, Aaron Blake Allen, and Shelby Highfield all of Flemingsburg, five great-grandchildren, Jaxon Lane Allen, Isla Blake Allen, Holden James Allen, Emma Ruth Browning and Ronny James Hamilton, honorary granddaughters, whom he loved as his own, Kelcie Love, Hannah Hamilton and Jacie Kiser, one sister, Nona Bussell of Ewing, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews and a host of church members, whom he loved and considered his family.

Services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky with Pastor Jacob White, Pastor Michael Cooper and Pastor Kyle Gezon officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Gene Smith, Clayton Browning, Zachary Browning, Harley Allen, Aaron Allen and Chris Browning.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Smith and Shelby Highfield.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 405 South Main Cross Street, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041 is caring for all arrangements for Bobby Gene Allen.
