William "Jay" Wigginton

Jay Wigginton passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital - Main in Lexington, Kentucky. He was 87 years old.

He is survived by his wife Sue Curry Wigginton. One son William Patrick Wigginton and his wife Janet and one daughter, Rebecca Johnson and her husband Tait. Three granddaughters, Aubrey Layne Wigginton, Brinley Cole Wigginton and Magdalen Honora Johnson. One sister, Ann Willoughby and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Wigginton and Pearl Adams Wigginton. Brothers, Charles Wigginton and Ray Wigginton, one sister Mary Lee Tipton and a grandson Jesse Lee Wigginton.

Jay was raised in Montgomery County, Kentucky where he was born on April 27, 1934. He along with his brother Ray owned and operated Mt. Sterling Office Supply for over 50 years.

He was a United States Marine Corp veteran having served at the end of the Korean Conflict.

Jay was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

After moving to Georgetown, Kentucky he loved watching his granddaughters play in various sports. He was a devout Christian and for over 40 years attended the Flemingsburg Church of God.

When possible, he attended the Stonewall Church of God in Scott County. Serving God and enjoying his family was his life.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 pm Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Rev. James Hickerson officiating.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is after 12:00 pm Sunday.

Private burial will be in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.
