William "Bill" Morgan Perkins, 82, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Bill was born on May 15, 1935 in Flemingsburg, KY to the late William Morgan and Jessie (Kendall) Perkins. He graduated from Fleming County High School then served our country in the United States Marines; he then worked for the Metropolitan Police Force of Washington, D.C. as a Detective for twelve years, and participated in the Knights of Columbus as a member. While living in Washington, D.C., he met his wife, Mary Louise Brophy, whom he wed on August 5, 1955. Following retirement due to disability, he returned to Fleming County and obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Morehead State University. He farmed burley tobacco and beef cattle, was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church, enjoyed UK basketball and football games, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sibling James Travis Perkins. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou of 62 years; his brother Timmy (Brenda) Perkins; his eight children, Timmy (Debbie) Perkins, William "Billy" Morgan (Melanie) Perkins III, John Michael "Mike" Perkins, Jeff (Kim) Perkins, Polly (Donnie) McCord, Matthew (Cindy) Perkins, James (Misty) Perkins, and Nathaniel "Ted" (Lori) Perkins; his sixteen grandchildren, Owen (Jeannie) Perkins, Ryan (Nikki) Perkins, Eric Sparks, Travis Perkins, Tyler (Jessica) Perkins, Lauren (Brian) Howard, Stephanie Perkins, Justin (Tessa) McCord, Brian Perkins, Jenna Perkins, Julie Perkins, Natalie Perkins, Madison Perkins, Andrew Perkins, Benjamin Perkins, and Shaun Perkins; and his three great-grandchildren, Emeri Perkins, Layla Perkins, and Boone Perkins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 15 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church officiated by Father Eric Boelscher. The Visitation will be 9am - 11am Friday at the church. Active pallbearers will be Owen Perkins, Travis Perkins, Ryan Perkins, Tyler Perkins, Brian Perkins, and Justin McCord. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Sparks, Timmy Perkins, Jr., Joe Kirby, and Timmy Perkins, Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Mt.
