Sylvia Turner Collins, 83, of Flemingsburg, widow of Delbert Collins, to whom she was married for sixty years, passed away peacefully at her sisters home in Englewood, OH on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born May 2, 1933 in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Mose and Emma Helton Turner.
A longtime, devoted member of the First Church of God in Flemingsburg, Sylvia was a retired assembly line employee from Dayton Abrasive, which manufactured drill parts. Sylvia loved fishing and bowling, but most of all, she loved her family and their family gatherings.
She is survived by: her sister, Sally Beatrice Collins of Dayton, OH; her nieces, Lisa Fugett of Flemingsburg, Janet (Dan) Hart of Dayton, OH, and Gwen (Dan) Kegley of Tipp City, OH; grandson, Jason (Jes) Fugett of Flemingsburg; great-granddaughters, Falon Shiloh, Lyra Jean, and Harper Grace Fugett, all of Flemingsburg; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Dave) Thaxton of West Liberty, KY; and numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. David Turner and Bro. Clint Stricklen. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Fugett, Dan Hart, Kyle Day, Dave Thaxton, Jesse Fugate, and Bob Money.
