Suzanne Flora

On Tuesday, December 25, 2018, Heaven received a precious Christmas gift as Suzanne Smith Flora was called home to be with her loving Lord and Savior. Suzanne Smith Flora, age 65, beloved wife and best friend for 45 years to Dickey Flora, was born on August 28, 1953 in Maysville, a daughter of the late Ben F. and Mona Saunders Smith. Suzanne was a faithful member of the Battle Run Christian Church who loved gardening and cooking. With a beautiful, contagious smile, Suzanne was a strong Christian woman who was very kind to everyone she met, and never had an enemy. She was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone. She loved life, her family, and most of all, God. She will be remembered for her soft spoken voice and almost always ending her sentences with, "and everything." Besides her beloved and faithful husband, she is survived by: her loving daughter, Amy (Michael) Parker of Mt. Carmel; cherished grandsons, Dustin Flora (Adriana Highfield) of Flemingsburg, and Trey Parker of Mt. Carmel; her sister, Jenny (Tony) Benner of Flemingsburg; her brother, Craig S. Smith of Florida; an aunt, Virginia King of Flemingsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 31, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Mike Burnett. Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery with the committal service performed by Bro. Chris Hamm. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Sunday, December 30th at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Flora, Trey Parker, Michael Parker, Craig Smith, Mike High, and Mark Fryman. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Ramey, Tony Benner, Billy Sapp, David McGlone, Michael McDowell, Jerry Kissick, and Dan Hicks.
