Ruby Gladys Thurman Honaker McKee

Ruby Gladys Thurman Honaker McKee, 92 of Farris Road, Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Friday evening September 13, 2024, at her home. She was born January 8, 1932, in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Zolar Thurman and Tressie McCleese Thurman Hardy Long.

Mrs. McKee was of the Church of God faith. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and was an excellent seamstress. A lot of her free time was spent sewing. She was the housekeeping supervisor at Fleming County Hospital and had also worked in the X-ray department there.

For several years she along with her husband operated McKee's Restaurant at Bluebank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Mauvoreen Owens McKee, one son, Donald Owens McKee and one daughter, Judy Honaker. Also, her siblings, James Thurman, Anna Long Pendland, Dorothy Caudill, Jean Whisman and William Hardy.

Survivors include two daughters, Roma McGuire and her husband Tim of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Vickie Conley and her husband Junior of Georgetown, Kentucky. Two sisters, Elsie King and her husband Cleve and Beatrice Vice and her husband Eddie all of Flemingsburg. Grandchildren; Matt Conley, Nickie Conley, Derrick Dean, Donnie McKee and Mac McKee. Great-Grandchildren; Ashley and Nicholas Thornsberry, Zoe McKee, Addy Dean and Ian Dean. Great-Great-Grandchildren; Lenorah and Sullivan Thornsberry. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 16, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Rev. Cleve King officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is after 12 Noon Monday until the hour of the service.

Family members will serve as pall bearers.
