Rosanna Walton Rice Coskery Delph, "Rose", peacefully stepped into eternity on Friday, October 5, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born on August 19, 1926 in Hillsboro, Kentucky, she was the eldest daughter of the late Thomas Earl Rice and Mary Elizabeth Rice. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Rice O'Brien; husbands, George T. Coskery, and Clayborn E. Delph; son George (Alma) Coskery; daughter, Jana (Robert) Coskery Hahn; and grandson, Thomas V. Coskery. She is survived by; her daughter, Ruth Ann (James) Coskery Hurst; grandchildren, Jamie (Ronald) Wiseman, Bobbi Jo (Chuck) Vanover, Robin (Jesse) Morgan, Carmen (Tim) Jordan, Shona (Scott) Haven, Benjamin Durham Coskery, Aaron Hahn; a nephew, William (Ann) Parker; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; four great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins. Rosanna was a 1944 graduate of Fleming County High School. She married George T. Coskery on November 7, 1946. They moved to post WWII Cincinnati where they worked and raised their family. Rose worked as a clerk at various downtown Cincinnati shops until accepting a full time position with the University of Cincinnati. She worked at the UC Bookstore, starting as a cashier and working her way up to management until her retirement in 1986. Upon retirement, Rose moved from Cincinnati back "home" to Fleming County. She began working part time at Kens New Market in 1988 until retiring once more in 2013. "Mom, Mawmaw, Grandma, Gram, Rose" leaves behind many special friends and neighbors. She enjoyed gardening, the occasional trip to Bingo, and sixty plus years of hosting Thanksgiving in her home. Rose loved watching college basketball and cheering for "her" Cincinnati Bearcats during basketball season. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved unconditionally without prejudice or judgment, setting the example of strength, grace, and faith. Her friendly smile and front porch wave will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. James Doughton. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday, October 9th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Ronald Wiseman, Chuck Vanover, Jesse Morgan, Tim Jordan, Benjamin Durham-Coskery, Aaron Hahn, William Parker, Logan Hahn, and Cheyne Hopkins.
