Roger Willoughby II

Roger Dean Willoughby II, 23, of Millersburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Born September 16, 1993 in Cynthiana, Roger was the son of Kristin Porter of Winchester and Roger Dean Willoughby of Millersburg.

Roger was employed as a carpenter with Metcon Construction Company based in Louisville. An avid UK basketball fan, Roger also enjoyed football and loved to hunt and fish. He also loved playing with his kids and his nieces and nephews. Roger was also a very talented artist and loved to draw.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his fiance', Laura Anderson of Millersburg; his children, Lisa, Kaylie, John Luke, and Brayden Willoughby; a brother, Michael (Kim) Porter of New Richmond, OH; sisters, Gerri (Jonathon) Pollitt of Lewis County, and Taylor Willoughby (Justin Varney) of Pikeville; nieces and nephews, Cheyenne, Debbie, Emma, Trenton, Colton, Keaton, Kenley, Garrett, and Alayna; maternal grandmother, Diana Porter of Flemingsburg; paternal grandmother, Barbara Willoughby of Carlisle; paternal grandfather, Jerry Willoughby of Millersburg; paternal great-grandfather, John Willoughby of Millersburg; paternal great-grandmother, Pearl Gee of Carlisle; and maternal great-grandfather, Ted Hunter of Bluelicks.

He was preceded in death by: maternal grandfather, Arthur Porter; maternal great-grandmother, Bonnie Hunter; paternal great-grandmother, Martha Willoughby; paternal great-grandfather, Bennie Gee; and a great-aunt-Tammy Hunter.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Herbie Stallard. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, January 2nd at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Justin Varney, Brian Hester, Justin Willoughby, Jacob Bloomfield, Floyd Campbell, and Jason Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Pollitt, Gregory Willoughby, James Willoughby, J.W. Willoughby, Ronnie Willoughby, Andrea Willoughby, and Michael Porter.
