Robert “Bob” Earl DeHart, age 84, of Flemingsburg, husband of Margaret Black DeHart, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Meadowview Regional Hospital in Maysville. Born in Rowan County on July 13, 1935, Bob was a son of the late Oscar Scott and Grace Eden DeHart. He was a retired independent distributor for Mike-Sells Potato Chips and a member of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodcrafting in “Papaw Bob’s Woodworking Shop”. Besides his wife, he is survived by: four children, Mark (Lisa) DeHart of Flemingsburg, Mike (Monica) DeHart of Union, KY, Kim (Jeff) Perkins of Ewing, and Tammy (Billy) Cowan of Ewing; grandchildren, Scott (Candace) DeHart of Louisville, Allison (Dustin) Orme of Lexington, Jenna (Nathan) Doyle of Lexington, and Julie Perkins of Ewing; great-grandchildren, Brody DeHart, Madison Davis, and Morgan Frey; a sister-in-law, Paula Blankenship; and niece and nephew, Patricia and Michael. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar DeHart, Jr., and Jim DeHart. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Larry Brown and Bro. Melvin Mitchell. Visitation will be 10am-1pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Caudill Cemetery in Rowan County. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Orme, Nathan Doyle, Danny Palmer, Jim Solter, Steve Hickerson, Melvin Hickerson, Glen Fite, and Kenny Allen, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
