Roberta 'Bertie' Eubanks, 70, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 18, 2014. Born July 4, 1944 in Sherburne, she was a daughter of Ruth Talmadge Crain Fulton of Flemingsburg and the late Alex Henry Fulton.
A retired caregiver and U.S. Shoe employee, Bertie also worked as a waitress at the Stockyards Restaurant and she ran the Crain Warehouse Restaurant in Maysville years ago. Bertie enjoyed her flowers and traveling but most of all, she loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she is survived by: a daughter, Marcheeta 'Markie' Eubanks (Stanley Henderson) of Mt. Olivet; a son, Leonard 'Lennie' Allen (Teresa) Eubanks, II of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Joshua Todd Marrs, Gabrielle Nikki Gulley, Carl Allen Durham, all of Flemingsburg, Matthew (Danyale) Durham of Havelock, NC, Emory Clay Eubanks, and Elden Cain Eubanks both of Flemingsburg; a great-grandson, Randall Gage Gulley of Flemingsburg; a step-granddaughter, Lexis Brandenburg of Flemingsburg; two sisters, Eda Vice of Flemingsburg, and Martha Fulton of Morehead, KY; special cousin, Carolyn Jean Poe; and special friend, Eileen Tribby. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by; a grandson, Austin Blake Eubanks; and two sisters, Linda Fannin and Ruth Ellen Flora.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, August 22, 2014 at Hillsboro Christian Church officiated by the Rev. Jim Hamm and David Eldridge, with burial to follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Thursday, August 21st at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held Friday morning, August 22nd from 7 to 8:30 am at the funeral home and from 12noon until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Marshall, Jimmy Fleming, James Emory Poe, Bobby D. Wagoner, Darrell Doyle, Tommy Porter, Gerald Saunders, John Barnes, and Norman Harn. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Marrs, Carl Durham, Matt Durham, Nikki Gulley, Clay Eubanks, Cain Eubanks, and Gage Gulley. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Care Club, P.O.
