Robert Parker Marshall, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home in Beechburg. He was born May 1, 1925 in Fleming County to the late Charles and Thelma Parker Marshall. Robert was a lifetime resident of Beechburg, WWII Marine Veteran, retired USPS rural mail carrier, had served on the Fleming County Ambulance Board and Fleming County ASCS Board, and he was a lifelong farmer.
Survivors include: his children, Glenda (Barry) Flack of Mims, FL; Philip (Renee) Marshall, Chuck (Nancy) Marshall, Theresa Marshall, all of Beechburg; Carla (Chris) Sims of Oviedo, FL; and Sheila (John) Lamb of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Robbie Prater, Kelly Prater, Carrie Hunt, Alisha Arrasmith, Lindsay Phillips, Darin Payne, Tracy Payne, Sarah Marshall, Tyler Marshall, Olivia Sims, and Leah Sims; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Dunaway of Wallingford; brother-in-law, Joe Boling of Maysville; sister-in-law, Pauline Marshall of Flemingsburg; sister-in-law, Geneva (Jim) Glanton of Columbus, IN; brother-in-law June (Nancy) Fearin of New Whiteland, IN; sister-in-law Bonnie Hickerson of Nicholasville; brother-in-law, Ervin Gardner of Beechburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Thelma 'Pickle' Fearin Marshall; a daughter, Martha Jones; brother, Lytle Marshall; and sisters, Charlotte Cassidy, Jane Boling, Lillian Ryan, Rebecca Combs, and Mary Elizabeth Tallent. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Flemingsburg Baptist Church (1856 Elizaville Rd, Flemingsburg) officiated by Bro. Jerry Boling and Rev. Sheila McGlone. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, January 13th at the Flemingsburg Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt Carmel Cemetery with Military Funeral Honors performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post #1834. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
