Rev. Larry J. Hill, 68 of Flemingsburg, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 1, 2014 in West Plains, Missouri. Larry was born October 12, 1945 to the late Joseph F. and Maggie Mae Hill in Monet, Arkansas. He entered the ministry at age 16, and after graduating high school, he attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Pastor Hill has served as a minister in churches in Missouri, Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky for the last 50 years. He married Brenda F. Emmons on November 4, 1972.
Larry is survived by two daughters, Melanie Hill and Melissa (Billy) Hollar; a son, Brandon Hill; five granddaughters, Allie Hill, Hannah Hollar, Sarrah Hollar, Laurrah Hollar, and Korrah Hollar; two grandsons, Benjamin Hill and Preston Hill; and two brothers, Dr. Andy (Trudy) Hill, and Bob (Nancy) Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Emmons Hill; his parents, Joe and Maggie Hill; and several brothers and sisters, Billy Hill, J.R. Hill, Ida Mae Carter, Minnie Scholes, Ellen Passmore, Myrtle Marie James, Betty Mask, and Mary Montgomery.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Victory Assembly of God officiated by the Rev. Ben Cain and Pastor Anthony Mullins. Visitation will be 10:00 am until the hour of service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Frederick Sparks, Billy M. Hollar, Troy Emmons, Anthony Mullins, Joseph Fulton, and Brandon Hill. Honorary pallbearer will be Benjamin Hill. Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home is in care of funeral arrangements.
