Phyllis J. Masters Stamm, age 84, of Flemingsburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Born on January 29, 1934 in Muses Mills, Phyllis was the eldest of five children born to the late Roy J. and Lula M. Price Masters. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Glenn O. Stamm. An avid supporter of youth activities, Phyllis served as a 4-H leader in Fleming County for over 30 years and acted as a fund raiser for many school related clubs and activities. She was bookkeeper for her husband's repair business, an avid vegetable and flower gardener, a skilled seamstress, and loved crafting. Phyllis was the loving mother of Angela (John) Catron of Flemingsburg, the proud grandmother of Nathan Stamm of Lexington, John Ashley (Amber) Catron of Richmond, and Britney (Sam) Bell of Nicholasville, and the proud great-grandmother of Avery W. Catron. She is survived by three cherished sisters, Gloria Bradley of Bethel, OH, Margo Ginn of Flemingsburg, and Pam Rankins of Lexington, one beloved brother, Michael (Betty) Masters of Flemingsburg and many treasured nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, November 5, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Larry T. Ingram. Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Stamm, John Ashley Catron, Sam Bell, Chevas Sparks, Brent Cockrell, and Casey Hinton. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Masters and Ken Bethel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Fleming County 4-H, P.O. Box 192, Flemingsburg, KY 41041.
