Norma Porter

Norma Jean Porter, 81, of Fleming County, wife of Larry Porter, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Fleming County Hospital. She was born August 28, 1933 in Fleming County to the late J.F. and Loraine Thacker Kirk.

A homemaker, Norma Jean loved flowers and growing them as well. She also loved her dogs. Besides her husband, she is survived by: four children, Shirley Jean Blevins of Flemingsburg, James Ray (Debbie) Williams of Myrtle Beach, SC, Judy (Gary) Buchanan of Hillsboro, and Joyce Shrout (Scott King) of Goddard; two brothers, James Kirk of Hillsboro, OH, and Ronnie Kirk of Batavia, OH; a sister, Lela Clark of Cincinnati, OH; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Danny Douglas Williams; a grandson, Timothy Dewey Allen; a great-grandson, Joshua Keith Curtis; a brother, Bill Kirk; and two sisters, Ramona Geaslin Fields and Edna Wray.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Herbie Stallard. Visitation will be 11am - 1pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Goddard Cemetery. Condolences may be made at www.carpenterfritzvicefh.com
