Naomi Bowling

February 26, 1929 — July 7, 2018

Naomi Bowling, age 89 of Fleming County, widow of Alex Bowling, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. Naomi was born on February 26, 1929 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Dewey and Gay Smith Moore. A well known local seamstress, she and her late husband formerly owned the Flemingsburg Dry Cleaners for 45 years. Naomi attended Battle Run Christian Church and Ewing Baptist Church, and she and her husband were co-founders of the First Church of God in Owingsville. Naomi was also a caretaker for the elderly and was an avid gardener and wonderful cook. She also loved cheering on her Kentucky Wildcats in basketball. Survivors include: her son, Doug (Diane) Bowling of Ewing; granddaughter, Erica (Brian) Sapp of Ewing; grandson, Chad Bowling of Ewing; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Emily, Kooper, Avah, and Ryder; sister, Phyllis Stuart; special niece, Jeri Martin; several other nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Oakley. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: her sisters, Gladys Lawson, Sylvia Roberts, Jean Cox, Reva Fultz, Wanda Ferguson, Tish Ellen Fultz, and Joyce Neal; and her brothers, English, Elwood, Alfred Lee, Henry Clay, and Lewis B. Moore. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Greg Tucker. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Tuesday, July 10th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chad Bowling, Erica Sapp, Brian Sapp, Kennedy Perkins, Dale Eddington, and Jarrod Fritz. Honorary pallbearers will be Robin Meyers, Kenneth Meyers, Gilbert Berryman, Kooper Perkins, Emily Sapp, Avah Bowling, and Ryder Sapp. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Dr., Maysville, KY 41056 or to a charity of one's choice.
