Michael Jones

Michael "Mike" E. Jones, age 67 of Maysville, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born October 6, 1950 in Maysville, the only son of the late Estel Eugene and Lillian Miller Jones. Mike was retired from Black River Carmeuse Lime and Stone Company as a heavy equipment operator. With a zest for life and a love for people, Mike was a very giving person who loved having fun and loved a good party with the more people the merrier. A "farm boy" at heart, Mike enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and traveling. Mike was a member of the Chatham Christian Church in Bracken County, and was very active in the Washington Lions Club having served as past District Governor in 2008, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by: a son, Patrick (Donna) Jones of Georgetown, KY; a daughter; Tina (Rick) Jones-Wallace of Maysville; a granddaughter, Caitlyn "Squirt" Davis of Maysville; his fiance', Phyllis McKee of Amelia, OH and her three daughters, Diane, Debbie, and Susan; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home in Flemingsburg officiated by Bro. Jackie McElfresh. Burial will follow in Sunnyside-Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Ewing. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, July 20th and 1-3 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rick Wallace, Daryl May, Donnie Lancaster, Donchez Martin, Bradley Detro, and Faris Al-Rdani. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Dunlap and Ronnie May.
