Margaret Vice, 83, of Flemingsburg, widow of Gano Vice, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. Born March 6, 1931 in Fleming County, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Bernice Merill Dailey.
A homemaker, Margaret was an avid quilter, having made numerous quilts through the years, and she was a member of the Fleming County Homemakers. Margaret loved gardening and working outdoors, growing flowers and vegetables. She helped her late husband on the farm with chores and milking cows and she was a wonderful cook. Margaret was a member of the Battle Run Christian Church and attended New Life Christian Church when she and her husband moved to Flemingsburg. She is survived by: three daughters, Joyce Helphenstine, Brenda (Larry) Buzzard, and Deborah (Eddie) Emmons, all of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Darin Helphenstine, Kevin Helphenstine, Angie Harper, Anita (Wayne) Roberts, Amber Helphenstine, Stephanie (Dereck) Phillips, Andy (Missy) Buzzard, Shawn (Carrie) Emmons, Misty (Willie) Parker, and Ashley (Kristian) Emmons; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral with the Rev. Norman Wasson and Vicki Sparks officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darin Helphenstine, Kevin Helphenstine, Shawn Emmons, Ashley Emmons, Andy Buzzard, and Derrick Helphenstine.
