Linda Kay Story McDonald, 78 of Smith Pike, Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, May 19, 2021 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maysville, Kentucky after an extended illness.
She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on September 26, 1942 to the late Lloyd and Hazel Turner Story.
A graduate of the Class of 1961 from Fleming County High School. Linda was a retiree from Fleming County School after 30 years of service in school nutrition. She was a talented artist, her artwork is displayed in several local businesses and in the homes of family and friends throughout Fleming County. Her most popular artwork having been the ink drawings of Fleming County’s covered bridges. Linda was an active member of the Locust United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Marvin Ben “Junior” McDonald Jr., son Benny K McDonald, daughter in law Sharon L McDonald and daughter Sherri L Jordan, two brothers, David Story and Jerry Story; two sisters Betty Story and Joyce Darnall.
She is survived by her son Tommy McDonald and wife Beverly of Hillsboro; grandchildren Jamie (Ben) Darling of Ashland; Andy (Taylor) McDonald of Hillsboro; Lee Jordan of Frenchburg and Clay Jordan of Utica, Mississippi; great grandchildren Theodore Edward Darling, Luke Thomas and Macy Jo Grace McDonald; three brothers Dr. Lloyd Edward (Barbara) Story of Louisville, Bill (Kathy) Story of Flemingsburg, Jimmie Story of Morehead; one sister, Sue (David) Watson of Flemingsburg; along with cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Brother James Hickerson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is after 5:00 pm Friday.
Serving as pall bearers will be Andy McDonald, Tony Darnall, Steven Watson, Mike Watson, Bradley Watson and Matthew Story. Honorary pall bearers will be Clay Jordan, Lee Jordan, Craig Smith, Mike Gooding, Timmy Darnall, Ben Darling and Billy Story, Jr.
