Lee Story

Lee Newell Story, 73, of Flemingsburg, husband of Carolyn Patrick Story, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Born in Carlisle on January 1, 1944, Lee was the son of Bernice Newell Story of Flemingsburg and the late Robert L. Story. Lee attended Morehead State University and was a retired quality control manager for Randall Textron in Flemingsburg and also worked at the Randall Textron plant in Greensburg, IN. Lee was a classic car enthusiast, particularly the Corvette, of which he was the former owner of three, and upon his retirement, he enjoyed being a cattle farmer and driving and delivering cars for Cheaps Chevrolet. Lee was very active in the Fleming County FFA Alumni where he served on the scholarship and fund raising committee's. He was also a member of Flemingsburg Masonic Lodge #112 F&AM, past president of the Fleming County Chamber of Commerce, a former co-owner of Story Lumber, a member of the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association, and he attended Blue Bank Christian Church. Besides his wife and mother, Lee is survived by his daughter, Lisa Story (Randy) McRoberts, and granddaughter, Leea McRoberts, all of Flemingsburg; a sister-in-law, Dora Malarky of Austintown, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. James Paul Humphries. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, March 15th at the funeral home with Masonic Rites performed at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Malarky, Steven Story, Andrew Story, Chris Glascock, Todd Glascock, Randy Sorrell, and Tommy McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Finch, Norman Story, Jerry Neal, Joe Kissick, Larry Hartley, Alden Manning, and Harold Porter. Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice.
