Jeffrey Carpenter

Jeff' Jeffrey Thomas Carpenter, 41, of Flemingsburg, passed away suddenly Monday morning, November 18, 2013. Born in Flemingsburg on August 12, 1972, Jeff was the son of William T. 'Tommy' and Connie Ann Fritz Carpenter. A 1990 graduate of Fleming County High School, Jeff was employed with Cheap's Chevrolet since 1999.

Jeff was always a great athlete, particularly in baseball. He helped coach his son's peewee football team as well as his t-ball team. An avid UK fan and Panther fan, Jeff loved to cook. Jeff loved his community and supported it in many ways and will be missed by all.

Besides his parents, he is survived by; his son, Trey Thomas Carpenter; sister, Amy Catherine Carpenter of Paris; a brother, Andrew Fritz (Linda) Carpenter of Flemingsburg; former wife and mother of his son, Amy Dawn Carpenter of Flemingsburg; he was 'Uncle Puff' to Andrew Tayler Carpenter, Jonathon 'Jack' Fritz Carpenter and Sophia Caterina Carpenter; maternal uncles, Tim (Martha) Fritz and Randy (Jowana) Fritz, both of Flemingsburg; maternal aunts, Judy (Scott Thompson) Fritz of Lawrenceburg, and Peggy (David) Bowery of Maysville; paternal uncles, Paul (Carolyn) Carpenter of Lexington; Gerald (Phyllis) Carpenter of Flemingsburg; Terry (Theresa) Carpenter of Maysville; Donnie (Brenda) Carpenter of Flemingsburg; and George David (Tammy) Carpenter of Louisville; paternal aunts, Joan (Earl) Harmon, and Mary Lou (Ed) Varnell, both of Flemingsburg; numerous cousins and friends; and his 'Cheap's Family'.

He was preceded in death by: an infant sister, Rebecca Ann Carpenter; maternal great-grandmother, Katie Mae Fritz; maternal grandparents, Torrence 'June' and Emma 'Kay-Kay' Vice Fritz; paternal grandparents, Carl Fleming and Anna Marie Coffey Carpenter; uncles, Ronnie Carpenter, Robert 'Bubby' Carpenter; an aunt, Kathy Cooper; and cousins, Daniel Fritz, and Jeremy Dye.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Flemingsburg Christian Church. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Thursday, November 21st at the church. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew F. Carpenter, Tayler Carpenter, John Wilson Hyatt, Corbin Marshall, David Corbin, Mike Ishmael, Mark Hampton, and Blake Wagner. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Carpenter, John Carpenter, Mike Carpenter, Greg Harmon, Steve Carpenter, Kevin Cooper, Patrick Carpenter, Isaac Carpenter, Shay Carpenter, Gabe Fritz, Pete Thompson, William Thompson, Jacob Fritz, Seth Fritz, Jarrod Fritz, and Jordan Fritz.
