Janet Norma Adams

Janet (Aunt DeDe) Norma Adams, 74, of Ewing, Kentucky and a member of the Elizaville Christian Church, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her son's home resting in her recliner. 

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Edwin S. Cook and Elma Kolic Cook. 

Janet received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education from Morehead State University.  She went on to teach over 32 years at Flemingsburg Elementary School and was always very involved with her students.  She was an avid Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and University of Kentucky Wildcats fan and she enjoyed reading and loved her pets dearly.  She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Kentucky. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Adams. 

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Adams (Tammy Rigdon) of Flemingsburg, one brother, Edwin S. Cook III of Olive Hill, Kentucky, one sister, Joyce Cook of Louisville, Kentucky, one grandson, Austin Harig, three nieces, Sonya Mathews, Candice Nolan (Jerry) and Randalene Sergent (Caleb Stewart), three nephews, Edwin S. Cook IV, Kelly Sergent and Benjamin Sergent, nine great nieces and nephews, Briana Cook, Lindsey Cook, Hannah Cook, Turrel Mathews, Devin Mathews, Morgan Mathews, West Nolan, Kate Sergent and Kelsey Wike (Josh) and one great great niece, Nora. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Pastor Terrell Clark officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery in Flemingsburg. 

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg will be from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday

Contributions are suggested to the Cancer Care Club in Flemingsburg at P. O. Box 189, Flemingsburg, Kentucky, 41041

Pallbearers include Kelly Sergent, Benjamin Sergent, Edwin S. Cook IV, Wesley Nolan, Austin Harig and Hunter Rigdon.
