James Harley Fields, age 51 of Huber Heights, OH, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH after a brief illness. Born November 17, 1966 in Lexington, he was a son of Frances Fearin Fields of Huber Heights, OH and the late Hershel Fields, Sr. A retired HVAC technician, James resided in Lexington for thirty years. He was a very loving and family oriented man. He enjoyed studying Chinese culture and military history. James was also a very spiritual person with a strong faith. Besides his mother, he is survived by: a brother, Herschel (Wendy) Fields of Huber Heights, OH; a sister, Vickie (David) Vanderhorst of Huber Heights, OH; a nephew, Austin Fields of Chicago, IL; two nieces, Hailey and Amelia Vanderhorst, both of Huber Heights, OH; his former spouse, Patricia Fields of Lexington; and cousins who live locally, Randy Morgan, Doug Morgan, Timothy Morgan, Arlene Wilson, Patty Owens, Kathy Kegley, and Leona Stamm. Besides his father, he was preceded in death: by a brother, Kenneth Lee Fields; and cousins, Harry and Glenn Morgan. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, July 7, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Tim Hamilton. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Esham Cemetery in Lewis County.
