Herbert Duhl, Sr.

Herbert L. Duhl, Sr., age 61, of Ewing and formerly of Jackson, OH, beloved husband of Cindy Duhl for 43 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, May 29, 2015 at his residence. Born July 30, 1953 in Liberty Township, OH, he was the son of Shirley Weaver Duhl of Chillicothe, OH and the late Herbert Hoover Duhl.

Herbert Duhl was a hard working man who loved his family, having proudly raised four kids. An avid hunter, he hunted with love and passion. For Herbert, God came first, then his family, then hunting. He never met a stranger and was a 'people' person. He was a proud farmer for many years and he loved wearing his camouflage outfits, hats, and sunglasses. Herbert was also a timber cutter and ran a sawmill for many years.

Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by: four children, Herbert (Tonya) Duhl, Jr. of Ewing, Sandra Lee Wolford of Sparta, TN, Alicia Ann (Harry) Wolford of Walling, TN, and Christopher Michael Duhl (Nikki Gould) of Ewing; grandchildren, Izzabell Grace Duhl, Leah Janell Duhl, Samantha Lee Wolford, Natalie 'Poogle' Nichole Wolford, Desaray Lee Wolford, Christopher Michael Duhl, Maleah Brook Duhl, Jayden Sharp, Mariah Howard, and Keitha Duhl; siblings, Debbie D. Muncy, Crystal Manion, Doug Duhl, Trena Mullins, Alan Duhl, Jackie Baxter, Kim Collins, April Oiler, and Matthew Duhl; a special mother-in-law, Nancy Davis of Ewing; best friend and brother-in-law, Joseph 'Joe' Christian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 5:00 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Joe Christian and Pastor Doug Baxter. Visitation will be 3-5 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Duhl Family Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Herbert Duhl, Jr., Christopher Duhl, Doug Baxter, Michael Muncy, Harry Wolford, and Sean Overturf.
