Emogene Bailey, age 90 of Dayton, OH, formerly of Fleming County, widow of Allen J. Bailey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Sanctuary Nursing Home in Dayton. Born January 8, 1928 in Fleming County, she was a daughter of the late Russell Day and Mary Mitchell Hunt. A homemaker, Emogene grew up attending the Hilltop Christian Church. She loved to go fishing and play Bingo. Emogene also enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook. Most of all, she loved her family and taking care of them. Emogene will always be remembered for the love she showed everyone and for her endearing smile and laugh. She is survived by: two sons, Bobby Jolly and Dean Bailey, both of Dayton, OH; two daughters, Mary Barrere of Detroit, MI, and Joyce Bailey of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Hunt of Fleming County, J.C. Hunt of Indiana, and Jimmy Hunt of Lexington; a sister, Janice Flora of Elizaville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Richard Anderson. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to one's favorite charity.
