Deloris McKinney, 90, of Fleming County, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Fleming County Hospital. She was born in Bath County on February 22, 1925, the oldest of ten children to the late John and Helen Stephens Gray.
Retired from Randall Textron in the shipping department, Deloris was baptized in the Clintonville Baptist Church in Bourbon County, and she grew up attending the Oakley Christian Church in Bath County. An avid quilter, Deloris was known for the quilts she made for her family and also for selling to people, and she loved to watch UK Basketball and NASCAR.
She is survived by: daughter, Ruby Ashcraft of Paris, KY; son Charlie McKinney (Tonya Cooper) of Ewing; daughter, Debbie (Dale) VanSlyke of Washington Courthouse, OH; grandchildren, Sarah Ferguson, Waylon Wyatt, Carina McKinney, John Marshall, Jeanne Rae Marshall, Rolanda Garrison, and Tina McKinney; great-grandchildren, Rhanda McKinney, Keylee and Brenna Garrison, Collin, Ryan, Aaron, and Hayden Ferguson, Madigan Marshall, and Braxton Ellis; two sisters, Lodema Jones and Etna Hammock, both of Bath County; a brother, Leslie Gray of New Richmond, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Ronnie McKinney; a granddaughter, Stephanie Marshall; and six siblings.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery officiated by Rev. Chuck Kemp. No visitation is planned. Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
