Delbert H. Hyer, Sr., 90, of Battle Run in Fleming County, widower of Betty Hart Hyer, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his residence. Born in Washington Courthouse, OH on February 18, 1925, he was a son of the late Robert and Jessie Hyer. Delbert was a retired plant manager for U.S. Shoe and he loved to farm and take care of his animals. He is survived by: a son, Delbert 'Deb' (Evelyn) Hyer, Jr. of Flemingsburg; a daughter, Linda Hyer (Eddie) Flora of Ithaca, MI; three grandchildren, Tonya Hyer (Gregory) Good of Georgetown, KY, Mechelle Flora (Brad) Shaw of Ithaca, MI, and Heather Flora (Jamey) Conn of Ithaca, MI; six great-grandchildren, Tiffany Dye and Brandy Tumey both of Flemingsburg, and Bryan Shaw, Brayden Shaw, Dallas Conn, and Jackson Conn all of Ithaca, MI;a great-great-grandchild on the way; two brothers, Frank Hyer of Georgetown, OH and Eddie Hyer of Iowa; and a sister, Gayle Henry of Dayton, OH. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Shawn Meade. Visitation will be from 12-2pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fleming County Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation, 1330 W. Peachtree St., Ste 100, Atlanta, GA 30309.
