David Owen Bray, 71 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday, December 15, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on May 12, 1950, to the late Jack and Ruby Smiddy Bray. David was a United States Army veteran having served during the Vietnam era.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted, Jay and Buddy.
He was a retired coal miner and farmer. He enjoyed farming, riding Harley's, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Melissa Hufffman Bray, One son, David Bray of Robertson County, Kentucky. Three daughters, Lynessa Bray of Richmond, Virginia, Jennifer Travers and her husband Ryan of Richmond, Virginia and Taylor Bray of Jeffersonville, Kentucky. One brother, Ed and five sisters, Sandy, Kathy, Sharon, Sheila and Deana. One grandson, Oliver and several nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Sharkey Baptist Church with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Elijah Sexton officiating.
Visitation at the Sharkey Baptist Church is after 12 noon Monday.
Burial will follow in the Bray Family Cemetery in Fleming County. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the W. N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post No. 1834.
Nephews will serve as pall bearers.
