Darlene Faye Hamm Spurlock, 50, wife of Mark Spurlock for 22 years, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Fleming County Hospital. Born in Maysville on March 2, 1964, she was the daughter of the late James Willard and Wanda Mae Ruggles Hamm. An animal lover, Darlene loved to cook and go fishing and camping. Besides her husband, she is survived by: a daughter, Tawanna (Seth) Horst of Missouri; a son, Scotty Butler of Florida; step-sons, Brian Spurlock of Ewing and Nathan Spurlock of Flemingsburg; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Randy (Charlene)Hamm of Wallingford and Tommy (Louise)Hamm of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Freckles; and best friends, Tammy Stacy and Robin Woodruff. She was preceded in death by: borh parents, Wanda Mae and James Willard Hamm; a brother, Jimmy Hamm; two infant children; and a grandson, Joseph Allen. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wallingford Cemetery.
