Cora Helphinstine

Cora Kathryn Flora Helphinstine, 87, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maysville.

She was born on April 5, 1935 at Battle Run in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Paul J. and Maude Moran Flora.

Mrs. Helphinstine was a retired clerk for the Western-Southern Life Insurance Company, and she was a member of the Blue Licks Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Helphinstine, who passed away on February 16, 2004, her step-grandson, Michael T. Helphinstine, two sisters, Nancy Carrie Flora and Berry Flora Burke and four brothers, Bobbie Flora, Edward "Buck" Flora, Ovel G. Flora and Sammy Flora.

Survivors include her stepson, William S. Helphinstine of Lexington, Kentucky, her step-great-granddaughter, Madison R. Helphinstine, four brothers, Dickey Flora and Aaron "Tater" Flora both of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Ollie Ray Flora of Fleming County, Kentucky and Eric W. Flora and his wife, Shirley of Hilltop, Kentucky, brother-in-law, Gordon Helphinstine, sister-in-law, Phyllis Wedding and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm. Saturday, September 17, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Brother Sam Chanslor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is after 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be William Flora, Danny Moran, Dustin Flora, Jimmy Dan Anderson, John Doyle and Billy Doyle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Biddle, Sue Biddle, Judy Moran, Yancy Ray and Kirk Flora.

Contributions are suggested to the Blue Licks Christian Church.
