Clifton Bradley Wagner, Jr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. Junior was a son to Clifton and Ida Wagner and was born on July 11, 1933. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a sister, Dixie King. Clifton joined the US Army and served in Korea and was honorably discharged, he was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He worked at Booth's Bakery in Flemingsburg, Hobart's in Troy, Ohio, and back to McGee's Bakery in Maysville and Lexington. He was a career employee of 27 years of the US Shoe Corporation and was then employed by the KY Department of Highways in Flemingsburg. He enjoyed farming on the side with his father Clifton, Sr. and his son, Jerry. Junior was a Flemingsburg Auxiliary Policeman for a few years and enjoyed working Court Days and other events, meeting and assisting friends, family and strangers. He also served as Deputy Jailer with his brother Buck (Jailer) for four years and then as Jailer for 4 years. Junior also had a sound system purchased from P.C. During the last few years Clifton was the primary caregiver (at times assisted by his sister-in law, Roberta Johnson of Lexington) for his wife Verna and provided for her everyday and medical needs.
