Carolyn Watson

Carolyn Sue Watson, 81 of Lexington, formerly of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at The Willows at Fritz Farm after a brief illness. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1939 to the late Major L. Watson and Mary Allison Watson.

Carolyn was a graduate of Fleming County High School and Morehead State University.  After graduation from MSU she and her lifelong friend Gayle Wilson moved to Apple Valley, California, where she taught history at Hook Junior High School and Apple Valley Senior High School. She retired in 1993 after teaching for over 30 years.

In 2001 she returned to Kentucky to be with her family.

Survivors include her cousins and main caregivers for the past several years, Cody and Sarah Bumgardner, her Godchildren, Carrie Zamberlan and Joey Wilson.  Also, several Cousins ; Oral E. Cooper, Jannie Spurlock, Cheryl Jones, Kim Watson, Kent Watson and Patsy Bumgardner.

Graveside memorial services will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Mt. Tabor at a later date.
