Brenda Kay Gore Campbell, 70, of Flemingsburg, widow of Tommy Campbell, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Meadowview Regional Hospital in Maysville. She was born on January 9, 1947 in Maysville, the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Maxine Watson Gore.
Brenda was a retired hairdresser and former owner of BK's Cut and Curl and also well known for being a talented pianist and singer. She was a member at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview where she served as the church pianist and she was also a member of the Gloryland Quartet. Brenda also loved her flowers and tending to them.
She is survived by: two daughters, Kristi (Douglas) Claypoole, and Tammy Storey (Joey Bartley), both of Fairview; two granddaughters, Laura Stacy of Flemingsburg, and Tabitha Mitchell of Fairview; cousins, Norma Lee Darnell, and Freddie Gore, both of Ewing, and Nancy (Joe) Shelley of Indiana; and several other cousins and aunts.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview officiated by Rev. Todd Wiley and Rev. Jeremy Moore. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, May 24th at the church. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Claypoole, Marty Harmon, Don Lee, Carl Storey, Jackie Jordan, and Nolan 'Toad' Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Gore, Orville 'Tuffy' Miller, and Bill Leet.
Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Care Club, P.O. Box 189, Flemingsburg, KY, or to one's favorite charity. Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home is in care of funeral arrangement.
