Barry Gaskins

Barry Kent Gaskins, 65, of Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Born September 18, 1949 in Flemingsburg, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Mary Emily Berry Gaskins. A U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, Barry was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He enjoyed listening to Motown music, watching westerns and he loved UK basketball. Barry is survived by: a son, Barry Kent (Brandi) Gaskins, Jr. of Ironton, OH; a daughter, Emily Leanne Gaskins of Flemingsburg; two granddaughters, Shyla and Sienna Gaskins, both of Ironton, OH; a brother, Sebastian (Jackie) Gaskins of Flemingsburg; a sister, Shanna Saunders of Lexington; an uncle, Carl Gaskins of Maysville; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9-11am Thursday at the funeral home.
