Anna Matt Pollitt, 94, of Lexington and formerly of Flemingsburg, widow of Howard Pollitt, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. She was born November 9, 1921 in Mt. Carmel, a daughter of the late John and Annabel Bullock Clary. A homemaker, Anna was a member of the Unity Baptist Church and the Gideons Bible Association.
She is survived by: two daughters, Ann (Hubert) Six of Port St. Joe, FL, and Linda (Butch) Tackett of Lexington; a son, Caleb Pollitt of Cookville, TN; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob (Barbara) Clary of Cincinnati. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two sons, Billy Howard Pollitt, and Donnie Ray Pollitt; two daughters-in-law, Wilma Pollitt, and Linda Pollitt; three sisters, Alice Foxworthy, Kate Hamilton, and Mary Wikoff; and four brothers, Bill Clary, Ralph Clary, John Roe Clary, and Charles Clary.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Charles Walton. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 614, Morehead, KY 40351 or a charity of one's choice.
