Amanda Yazell

Amanda Rigdon Yazell, 88, of Flemingsburg, widow of Thomas Estill Rigdon and William 'Bud' V. Yazell, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Providence Pavilion Nursing Home in Covington, KY. She was born on June 16, 1927 in Fleming County, a daughter of the late John R. and Ada Lee Emmons Perkins. Retired from Fleming County Hospital as Admissions Clerk, Amanda was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church where she served many years as church youth leader and Sunday School Teacher, was a Deacon Emeritus and active in the Disciple Women's Ministry. Amanda was a very active member of the Fleming County Hospital Auxiliary and she was also the first Book Mobile driver in Fleming County.

She is survived by: two daughters, Sally Rigdon (Patrick) Gosselin of Flemingsburg and Molly Rigdon Tackett of Lawrenceburg; a son, Thomas Estill (Teri) Rigdon, Jr. of Ben Lomond, CA; grandchildren, Eliza B. Tate of Los Angeles, CA, Perry (Amanda) Holser of Cincinniti, OH, Isaac (Monica) Gosselin of Villa Hills, KY, Kayt (William) Barbane of Erlanger, KY, Carter Elizabeth Tackett (Keith) Beasley of Salvisa, KY, Sarah Jane Tackett of Louisville, Seth Thomas (Brianna) Tackett of Richland Hills, TX, Alethea Rigdon (Mike) Greenburg of Petaluma, CA, Meghan Rigdon (Sean) Panek of Clearwater, FL, Amanda Shea Rigdon of Ben Lomond, CA, Claire Horton of New York, NY, and Ryan (Shaneen) Horton of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Jane Perkins Williams of Flemingsburg, and Joyce Perkins (Ray) Kreider of Camp Hill, PA; a brother, Jack R. (Mary) Perkins of Lemoyne, PA; children of her 2nd husband, Pat (Tim) Greifenkamp and Carolyn (David) Collins, all of Maysville; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by: four siblings, Mary Louise Perkins, Robert B. Perkins, Thomas L. Perkins, and Margaret Ann Perkins Edmond; and son-in-law, Paul C. Tackett.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 pm Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Flemingsburg Christian Church officiated by the Rev. Peter Morgan. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday, November 19th at the church and 7-11am Friday at the church. Private burial will be made in the Fleming County Cemetery.
